Sweet Spanish
Burbank, CA
The client wanted to honor this 100-year-old home while bringing in a refreshed, inviting feel: colorful and maximalist, yet still true to its Spanish Revival bones and old Hollywood charm. The exterior, living room, dining room, kitchen, primary bedroom, office, and backyard were all lovingly and thoughtfully transformed with color, pattern, wallpaper, and lighting. The Batchelder fireplace became a focal point we designed around because, as with many historic homes, it’s important to preserve the architectural elements that speak to the home’s history and character. This project is a unique blend of cultural references and layered style, from the emerald green Moroccan rug in the living room to the Art Deco-inspired sconces, contemporary seating, and quirky art.
